Brampton’s public transit fares going up starting Monday

As of Monday, Brampton’s public transit fares are going up.
The cash fare will be going up to $3.75 from $3.50 and the e-purse fare goes up by five cents to $2.80.
Adult weekly passes are going up a dollar to $31 and the monthly passes are going up to $118 from $115.
Fares for children, students and seniors stay the same.
The fare increases are part of the city’s 2014 budget. The increases are expected to bring in an additional $1.46 million a year.
