Woman accused of stabbing U of T professor to undergo mental health assessment

The 21-year-old woman charged in connection with the stabbing of a University of Toronto professor has been ordered by a judge to get a mental health assessment.
Xiao Yue Zhou had her bail hearing delayed on Thursday in order to get the assessment.
The professor was stabbed in the arm and leg at a downtown campus building on Wednesday. The professor, 42, was taken to hospital with what police called a minor laceration. Zhou was arrested in the office.
A weapon was recovered, but a motive for the attack was not revealed.
Zhou was charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possessing a weapon and criminal harassment.
Zhou will return to court for a bail hearing on October 8.
