A woman is in hospital after a fire at a Canada Post facility in Mississauga.
Emergency crews were called to the Canada Post’s Gateway Postal Facility on Dixie Road, near Eglinton Avenue East, around 8 a.m. on Friday.
Peel police say an employee was examining a package when it caught on fire.
Paramedics initially said the woman suffered minor burns. However, police later said she was hospitalized due to an asthma attack brought on by the smoke. It’s not clear if she was the employee who was handling the package.
It’s not yet known what was in the package, but police say it doesn’t appear to be nefarious.
