Burlington Chiefs lacrosse is serious business and if you don’t believe it, one look at 8-year-old star Ryan Lanchbury should change your mind in a hurry.
With a scoring touch that allowed him to pump in 132 goals playing hockey last winter, the youngster’s obvious talents carry right into the box, where he’s also known as a physical defender and highly-skilled passer.
And if that weren’t enough, the second grade student has strong academic inclinations, though for the final month of summer his heart, like his hair, is focused on lacrosse.
Lanchbury and many of his Chiefs teammates had their tops turned bleach blond for the Provincial Championships in Whitby as a show of solidarity. And it seemed to work, as Burlington got past powerhouse Orangeville in the 230-team tourney.
