It was a scene you thankfully don’t witness very often on the streets of Toronto – police standing in a tense crouch with rifles and guns drawn, aimed at a silent house.
It happened Tuesday on Holborne Ave. near Coxwell and Danforth.
Cops were called about a robbery and managed to corner two burglars, who barricaded themselves inside the house.
After a tense stand-off which saw the E.T.F. cordoning off the streets with weapons drawn and demanding the pair surrender, the elite force stormed the house.
Two 21-year-olds are in custody but they didn’t go directly to jail. Instead, cops took them both to a nearby hospital for treatment of some minor wounds.
They’re each facing a variety of charges.
