As Roger Turgeon was clinging to life in a New Brunswick hospital after suffering two massive heart attacks his doctors, thinking he was at death’s door, asked his wife to find out if there was anything he wanted.
Turgeon asked for a Canadian Tire flyer and catalogue.
It seems leafing through the pamphlets looking at nifty new lawnmowers and other household gadgets did the trick and the dedicated Canadian Tire shopper has since recovered.
A Canadian Tire store in Fredericton issued a special flyer featuring a picture of Turgeon and his family. The general manager Paul Guitard said he wanted to do something special for such a loyal customer.
And for those other times Turgeon may be feeling down, the store also provided a hardcover bound edition of the 2006 catalogue and $500 gift certificate.
While many people expect to pass through the pearly gates when they die, this guy probably hopes to stroll down the hardware aisle in the sky.
