Tie Domi’s Legal Counsel Issues New Clarification On Restraining Order

We have heard from Leanne Domi.

We’ve read a once-only statement from Tie Domi.

We received a dismissive missive from Belinda Stronach, the supposed ‘other woman’.

And now, despite all parties insisting they won’t have anything else to say about the messy divorce involving the ex-Leaf, yet another party has chimed in – Tie Domi’s legal counsel.

A published report that indicated Domi had alleged violated the restraining order obtained by his wife last week forced those who represent him in the courts to step forward.

The story claimed Domi showed up at his wife’s door on the weekend, supposedly to see his sons. While he’s allowed visits with his offspring, he wasn’t supposed to do it on his soon-to-be-ex-wife’s turf.

And that means he could be liable for severe penalties – including court sanctions.

But in a carefully worded release, lawyers for Tie Domi Enterprises (TDE) make it clear the incident was the result of a simple’ misunderstanding’.

“Mr. Domi regrets the confusion that arose last Friday with respect to access to the children,” it reads. “He has acted in good faith always and is committed to establishing a clear and constructive agreement.

“Mr. Domi has instructed his lawyers to work with Ms. Domi’s legal counsel to clarify and, where possible, strengthen the parenting provisions to avoid future confusion.”

Leanne Domi accused her husband of having an affair and blames Stronach for breaking up their marriage. But neither the Liberal MP nor the retired hockey player have acknowledged that they’re an item and continue to ask for privacy.

Statement on Tie Domi’s Divorce Proceedings

“Last week, Tie and Leanne Domi successfully negotiated a temporary settlement in their divorce proceedings that, among other things, established arrangements for the parenting of their children.

Nevertheless, a misunderstanding with respect to those parenting arrangements arose last Friday afternoon that has, regrettably, become new fodder for media coverage.

TDE therefore, wishes to place the following points on the public record.

First, Mr. Domi regrets the confusion that arose last Friday with respect to access to the children. He has acted in good faith always and is committed to establishing a clear and constructive agreement.

Second, as a consequence, Mr. Domi has instructed his lawyers to work with Ms. Domi’s legal counsel to clarify and, where possible, strengthen the parenting provisions to avoid future confusion. That work is underway and it includes the assistance of a parental coordinator through whom both parties can work in a timely and dispassionate manner.

Mr. Domi’s hope is that this painful and private matter can be resolved as quickly as possible. Notwithstanding their other differences, Tie and Leanne place a shared priority on the achievement of a fair and final settlement that focuses, above all else, on the wellbeing of their children.”
