Nearly two weeks after Walker vanished from his Toronto home near Carlton and Parliament Sts., investigators provided an update on the case, which they believe has taken a nasty turn.
Homicide detectives think he may have been taken in a van from his home to somewhere in the Coboconk area. Cadaver dogs will be searching the area for the missing man.
On Sunday investigators issued an arrest warrant for 46-year-old David K. Reid of Mississauga after searching Walker’s home and reportedly finding evidence. Police claim Walker, who frequents online chat rooms, met Reid on the Internet.
“I don’t know where the relationship started,” said Homicide Squad Det. Pauline Grey. “But there was a significant level of violence found in Mr. Walker’s home.”
They’re looking for Reid in the area of Meaford after the car he was thought to have been driving crashed over the weekend.
Police were cautious in releasing details, with Grey confirming that Walker “met with foul play.”
“I’m not convinced that he’s deceased,” Grey said. “But there are some obvious markers that we look to, time being the main thing.”
“Mr. Walker was predictable, he had habits that he did every single day without fail.”
Neither man has a criminal record.
