Heckler Throws Drink At Streisand During Political Sketch

The political sketch Barbra Streisand has included in her concerts didn’t go over so well with one audience member in Florida.

A paper cup filled with some sort of liquid was tossed onto the stage when the singer started poking fun at U.S. President George W. Bush at her concert in Sunrise, Fla. Tuesday night.

Although the funny girl wasn’t laughing, her manager Martin Erlichman said she did keep her cool and responded to the rude gesture by saying: “It’s a free country and they’re entitled to express their opinion.”

This isn’t the first time the political skit has been heckled. A fan voiced disapproval at a Streisand show in Philadelphia and the singer caused a stir last month when she told a heckler at Madison Square Garden to “Shut the f*** up! Shut up if you can’t take a joke.”

Erlichman said the left-leaning singer believes the skit is all in good fun, noting the Bush impersonator who wrote it is a Republican.

“This skit has been so massively covered by media, it’s impossible that it still could come as a surprise to any of the Bush admirers who bought tickets,” Erlichman said.

The skit will remain in the show despite the controversy, the singer’s manager added.
