At just 16-years-old, Eddie Houghton is already a leader on the St. Michael’s football team, and he hopes to follow in his brother’s footsteps by winning the upcoming Metro Bowl against Pickering at the Rogers Centre.
“I’m very excited,” he beams. “Since the beginning of the season our coaches reminded us what we’re playing for and everyone on the team’s looking forward to it.”
St. Mike’s head coach Paul Forbes will be relying on his star player.
“He’ll be a very big part…Eddie Houghton will be most of our offence,” he said.
Eddie’s brother Charlie was Metro Bowl M.V.P. for St. Mike’s two years ago and now plays college football in Washington. Eddie hopes history repeats itself.
“I’m going to do my best to follow the tradition,” Eddie vows.
