The case of missing Brampton man Hardik Vyas has come to a grim end only days before Christmas.
The 19-year-old’s remains were found in a creek that runs through Pearson International Airport. An airport maintenance crew spotted the body in Etobicoke Creek Monday afternoon and subsequently contacted authorities.
An autopsy was conducted the next day and determined that the body was that of Vyas. Drowning was deemed the cause of death, but investigators are still waiting for a toxicology report.
Vyas disappeared on October 29th shortly after leaving a Brampton pub with friends. He was last seen walking near Queen St. and West Dr. Vyas’s friends reportedly looked for him but when they didn’t find him they called police.
The man’s family has been notified of his death.
Investigators say their probe is ongoing and they want anyone with information to contact them at (905) 453-2121, ext. 2133, or Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS/8477.
