Cavs End Raptors Win Streak At Home

The Cleveland Cavaliers ended Toronto ‘s eight-game win streak with a narrow 85-86 victory at the Air Canada Centre on Wednesday night.

LeBron James had 29 points to lead the Cavs.

James got off to a relatively slow start, scoring just 10 points in the first half before heating up in the third.

His 13-point outburst late put the Cavaliers up 71-70 heading into the fourth.

Chris Bosh led Toronto with 24 points and 10 rebounds.   Andrea Bargnani added 18 points, while Jose Calderon had 10 and T.J. Ford finished with 8.

Raptors coach Sam Mitchell wasn’t impressed with his team’s effort.

“We didn’t put a body on them and they beat us up,” Mitchell said. “Everyone has to step up and make plays and we didn’t do that tonight.

“We got beat. They just beat us up. At the end of the game they got offensive rebound after offensive rebound, second shots.”

Bosh seemed to agree.

“I don’t think we played the same aggressive team play we normally do. We have to stick to the basics,” he said. “And teams know what we’re going to do now, that’s the interesting thing. I didn’t tell my team but guys are talking about us, they’re noticing that we’re playing well and they’re not coming in here dragging, they’re coming in ready to play a basketball game.”

A win would have tied Toronto ‘s longest single-season win streak at home.   They won nine straight in 1999.
