Senior Robbed By Woman

Police are hunting for a woman who callously mugged an 81-year-old man in his own home.
Jimmy Merner has lived in the same apartment for the last 17 years, and he’s always felt safe in his environment.
His complex features an entry code system and surveillance cameras, but on Sunday night his sense of security was shattered. It all started when he received a knock on his door. He answered and recognized a woman, letting her in to use the phone.
“She sat down here beside me and I had the wallet in the pocket and she must have felt it, you know. And gee, she struggled with me for about ten minutes.”
“She got the wallet, anyway,” he shrugs.
The woman is known around the building and the area and is believed to be a drug user.
She’s 5-foot-7, with a heavy build.
In total she stole $85 from her elderly victim.
“She is in the neighbourhood somewhere,” Merner adds. “Across the street or in the building somewhere.”
“If I had been younger I would have been able to fight her off.”
