A key witness in a Mississauga murder trial has vanished, raising concerns for his safety.
Joines Connolly was gunned down in August of 2005. He was with friends outside a Mississauga restaurant when he became the unintended victim of gunfire.
Tony Calvo witnessed the attack, but he hasn’t been seen since June 2006. With the trail a couple of weeks away, Connolly’s widow, Jennifer, is concerned that justice will not be served, while authorities can’t help but think Calvo may be in danger.
“He had so much energy and he was so alive. Anyone who ever met him knew he was like magnetic,” Jennifer said of the murdered man.
Calvo is 25-years-old and from the Toronto area. He’s 5-foot-7, 160 pounds.
“I think because it’s a murder case there is understandably a certain degree of concern for his safety,” admits P.C. J.P. Valade.
