Bank Robber’s Foliage Foolishness Foiled

Foliage may work as camouflage for military outfits hiding in dense forests, but slapping some leafy branches onto one’s body probably isn’t the most effective way to hide during a bank robbery.
Still, amazingly a New Hampshire bank robber tried just that Saturday when he marched into a Citizens Bank with the tree limbs duct-taped to his body and head as a disguise that needless to say, leafed something to be desired.
“He really went out on a limb,” Manchester police Sgt. Ernie Goodno said Sunday.
Police claim the man didn’t say anything about having a weapon but simply demanded the cash before making like a tree and, well, you know what. But with the fall fashion as his only disguise it’s no surprise that despite the facial foliage, someone quickly identified the robber from a security camera photo.
It didn’t take long for local cops to track down James Coldwell, and the 49-year-old has been charged in the robbery.
And if convicted, he should have plenty of time to change his colours and who knows, maybe even turn over a new leaf.
