It’s a hormonal cocktail that over time eliminates a person’s sex drive, and serial pedophile Peter Whitmore has apparently asked for it.
A published report suggests the repeat sex offender has asked to be chemically castrated, five days after he was sentenced in Regina to life in prison for the abduction and sex assaults of a 14-year-old boy from Winnipeg and a 10-year-old boy from Saskatchewan last summer.
That conviction would see the 36-year-old eligible for parole in seven years. Whitmore, who apparently agreed to have the procedure done back in 2005 but didn’t because he couldn’t get a doctor to accept him as a patient, is said to have written to prison officials requesting the treatment.
Canadian law dictates criminals can’t be forced to undergo chemical castration; they have to agree to it.
Whitmore’s criminal record goes back to the 1980s, when he was convicted several times for sex assaults on children in Ontario. Despite warning signs that he’d reoffend, the pedophile’s relatively short stints in jail always saw him released at the end of his sentence.
