In Collinsville, Illinois, ketchup is big business, so big in fact, that the small community in the southern part of the state is in pursuit of its second ketchup-related title.
Folks there are trying to set a Guinness record for the world’s largest ketchup packet, something they could add to the already-held title of world’s largest ketchup bottle.
To help them play catch-up, Heinz supplied 1,500 pounds of the popular condiment to fill an eight-foot tall ketchup packet.
And it’s a community initiative; townspeople are paying a buck apiece for the privilege of pouring the ketchup into the plastic packet.
It’s a very saucy affair, and all of the proceeds are going to the Collinsville Christian Academy, which was damaged by a fire.
It’s true what they say, ketchup can make even burnt things good.
