It was a bumpy landing for 280 passengers on board an Air Canada Airbus 340 on Friday afternoon. The Greater Toronto Airports Authority confirms the plane, en route from China, developed a possible tire problem as it came in for a landing. Crews prepared for the worst but expected the best – and that’s what they got. The jet landed without incident.
Power Failure
A blustery day that at times felt more like fall than summer left some city residents in the dark Friday afternoon. Toronto Hydro says a power blackout that hit the Kingsway and Royal York area around the dinner hour was caused by tree branches being brought down by high winds. Crews immediately responded trying to restore the juice.
