And they say you can’t learn anything from watching television…
A Kentucy man charged with a string of burglaries in the central part of the state says he figured out how to break in to and enter homes by watching television.
Thirty-six-year-old Micahel Hobbs pleaded guilty to five counts of burglary and was sentenced to 12 years in prison for his crimes, which he said he planned after watching Discovery Channel program “It Takes A Thief,” which features two ex-convicts who show property owners how vulnerable they are to theft.
A local police spokesman says officers found no stolen property or other physical evidence at Hobbs ‘s home – just as his TV tutors advised.
However he always turned up in advance at homes later burgled — typically to ask if a homeowner needed his eavestroughs cleaned, which police say is “just not coincidental.”
No word on whether Hobbs will be joining the show’s cast of cons upon his release.
