Enraged Man Accused Of Cutting House In Half With Chainsaw

This may be the ultimate case of a house divided. A man in the town of Hillsboro, Ohio – not far from Cincinnati – has literally cut a home in half with a chainsaw. What prompted Rodney Rogers to allegedly take such bizarre actions? The fury of a renter scorned.

The 66-year-old was living in a house under construction that was owned by someone he knew.  And Rogers had every reason to believe his acquaintance was going to sell the property to him. But when he learned the guy had no interest in offering the house for sale to its current occupant, cops contend he went ballistic.

They say the enraged tenant grabbed a chainsaw and began cutting into the home itself, making a lateral division through all the walls and siding at about chest level. And he apparently didn’t stop until the entire abode was broken in half. The owner was appalled at the damage and has yet to figure out just how much it will cost to fix it all.

Officials who have examined the structure are amazed at the accused’s alleged ability with a chainsaw. The house is quite literally divided in two, with the top part sitting on the bottom part in an uneasy juxtaposition. And according to the local sheriff, there’s only one thing keeping it all in place. “Gravity,” explains Ronald Ward.

Rogers was arrested and immediately bailed out pending a court appearance. It’s not clear where he’s living right now.
