Mow Problem

It wasn’ t hard for a West Virginia police officer to chase down a drunk driving suspect. In fact he was able to do it on foot.

Why? Well the man who’d allegedly had too much wasn’t driving a car – he was behind the wheel of a riding lawnmower. Michael Ginevan of Bunker Hill was about a mile from his home when a sheriff’s deputy tried to pull him over. That’s when the 39-year-old suspect floored it. At that point the deputy stopped his cruiser, ran down the mower and pulled Ginevan off the vehicle.

The man was arrested after refusing to take a sobriety test – but the case of beer strapped to the front of the lawnmower couldn’t have helped his case.

Ginevan was charged with fleeing while driving under the influence, and obstructing a police officer. He was being held in jail on $7,500 bond.
