Raptors Edge Bulls In Pre-Season Action

The Toronto Raptors defeated the Chicago Bulls 92-82 in pre-season action Friday.

Andrea Bargnani led Toronto with 19 points and Juan Dixon added 17 points in the Raptors second exhibition game against an NBA opponent.

Jamario Moon saw his first dose of significant action for the purple dinos, likely increasing his chances of making the squad.

“I thought he was very active on defence,” Raptors coach Sam Mitchell said. “He’s got some skills, we know he can shoot the basketball. We think he’s got a chance, that’s why we’ve kept him around, and it was nice to be able to give him some extended minutes.”

Moon finished with 10 points in 28 minutes Friday, and was beaming after learning he impressed his head coach.

“Well if Sam said I’ve got a shot, that’s pretty good,” Moon said. “From the first day I was thinking like that, but if Sam said it, then we’re going to roll with what Sam said.”

Overall, Mitchell thought his team played well.

“I liked the tempo of the game, I loved the way we played defence, we went after the ball, we were just aggressive,” Mitchell said. “If we can come with that mentality night in and night out we’ll be OK.”
