Major Traffic Woes As DVP, Allen Rd. Partially Closed

The good news is it’s supposed to be a gorgeous day in the city on Sunday, with temperatures in the low- to mid-20s and sunshine.
The bad news? If you’re trying to get around town in your car you’ll have to contend with two major road closures.
The Don Valley Parkway was closed at 12:01am Sunday between the Bayview-Bloor exit and the Gardiner Expressway for road work. Only the southbound lanes are affected, and they were due to reopen at 2pm.
Among the decent alternates – Victoria Park, Leslie and Don Mills. Drivers should expect all three to be busier than normal.
Meanwhile, the southbound Allen Rd. has also been shut down for maintenance work, between Transit Rd. and Eglinton Ave. That closure is expected to last until midnight, but stretches of the roadway could open up sooner than that as crews move along the road.
