A few days ago we told you about a homeowner who forced a suspected robber to clean up the mess he’d made in his home before police were called. Now, there’s another disgruntled victim who wouldn’t take an intruder lying down. Instead, he chose to sit on him.
Jeffrey Stephens and his wife were fast asleep in their Two Rivers, Wisconsin home when their dog began to bark. When his wife went outside to investigate what was disturbing the pet, she saw a 20-year-old man rifling through the backseat of a neighbour’s car.
Her husband confronted the stranger, who claimed to be a friend of the owner. But Stephens didn’t buy it and as the man attempted to flee, a fight broke out. The intruder lost his jacket, shirt and a sock and a shoe in the tussle, but still tried to escape the scene. So Stephens did the only thing he could think of as his wife called the police. The 200-pound giant knocked the man down on the ground and sat on him, refusing to let him get up, as sirens blared toward the house in the distance.
Patricia Stephens breathlessly told the startled cops that her husband was sitting on someone they believed to be a burglar. And when they arrived that’s just what they found. Authorities made a quick arrest and the suspect remains in custody.
Stephens suffered only minor injuries in the attack and is done with police work. After all, he figures he already put his best – er- foot forward.
