The Ultimate Pit Stop: A Portable Toilet For Your Car

It’s probably happened to you at some point in your life – you’re in your car, stuck in a massive traffic jam, when you get “that feeling.” Mother Nature is calling and you have to go to the bathroom. But there’s no way out and not a restroom in sight. And soon not only is traffic backed up, but so are you. What’s a motorist to do?

A Japanese firm believes it has the answer. Kaneko Sangyo Co. has come up with the ultimate device for your vehicle  – a portable toilet. The company, which normally makes plastic accessories for automobiles, designed the item for those emergency moments when there’s no other choice.

The driver disposal comes with a cardboard bowl that can be easily assembled at a moment’s notice, a water-absorbent sheet and a large curtain for privacy. And then there’s a plastic bag that’s used to collect – well, you know. It’s compact enough to fit in a suitcase and can be unfurled at a moment’s notice.

Why would anyone make such a product? It turns out there’s a practical method to this seeming madness. Japan is frequently plagued by earthquakes and drivers who are caught in the middle of them are often left stuck on the road for hours. The company feels a lot of people there will buy one, although you’re not supposed to use it when the car’s moving.

The creators plan to start selling them online beginning November 15th. Which means you’ll have to hold it in until then.
