Raptors Rock Cavs In Pre-Season Action

The Toronto Raptors took a 19-point lead into the fourth quarter and held strong for a 111-78 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers in pre-season action Thursday night at the Air Canada Centre.

New Raptor Carlos Delfino had 18 points and nine rebounds and Chris Bosh had 12 points in his first appearance in four games after sitting out with an undisclosed knee injury.

“It’s good,” Bosh said. “It was good to get out there, I’m glad to see how it is to play in a game. I think my conditioning was pretty decent, and my knee was pretty good, so I’m feeling pretty comfortable right now.”

Raptors coach Sam Mitchell wasn’t surprised that Bosh looked good despite his lack of recent action.

“He’s been working hard,” Mitchell said. “Even when he couldn’t do court work, he’s been really working hard, rehabbing his knee and working on his body. Hopefully he feels good tomorrow and we can play him another 15 to 20 minutes.”

Jason Kapono also finished with 12 points and Jose Calderon and Kris Humphries scored 11 apiece.

The win improved Toronto ‘s pre-season record to a respectable 4-2.

Cavs star LeBron James had 17 points and nine assists in a losing effort.
