How Much Does It Really Cost To Go To A Leaf Game?

It’s a Toronto tradition for some, but for others tickets to a Maple Leafs game is completely unattainable.
Never mind the price of entry, the cost of food, parking, transportation and any other concessions or merchandise can make a good old hockey game quite unreasonable, and that’s if you can even get your hands on (and your bottom in) a seat.
As it happens, despite the team failing to bring home a Stanley Cup since 1967, Maple Leafs fans pay the most of any in the NHL at an average ticket price of $88. Right behind the Buds are two other Canadian clubs – the Vancouver Canucks at $71.39 and Montreal Canadiens at $67.65.
For some it’s a serious problem, for others it’s just a joke.
“None of those teams have an NFL team to compete against them in their market, so they can afford to charge whatever they want ,” said Citytv sports anchor and former Leaf Jim McKenny.
And the tickets aren’t just expensive, they’re getting pricier with each year. The price of entry jumped 6.6 per cent recently, and a family package for four now costs more than $476.
As for the cheapest tickets in the league, that honour goes to the St. Louis Blues, followed by the Buffalo Sabres with an average price of $33. With the Leafs in Buffalo three more times during the regular season, the team struggling on home ice and the Canadian dollar higher than it’s been in decades, the Queen City is looking like the best option to check out the Blue and Whites without spending a lot of green.
Here’s a list of individual game ticket prices from the cheapest to the most expensive for each of the NHL’s 30 teams.
