Schwarzenegger Terminates Competition In Poll Of Top Movie Lines

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ominous warning from the Terminator films, “I’ll be back,” is the most used movie line according to a survey from myfilms.com

The online poll of film quotes so popular they’re now part of everyday conversation put the three-word line uttered by the Austrian action star-turned-California governor atop a list of cinematic gems that also includes selections from Casablanca and Dirty Harry.

Coming in second was Rhett Butler’s Gone With the Wind line, “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.”

In third was a line that was never actually said. You’d think that as Star Trek’s Capt. Kirk, William Shatner must’ve ordered, “Beam me up, Scotty,” referring to engineer Montgomery “Scotty” Scott (James Doohan), but the line was never said exactly like that.

Science fiction films ruled the list – as “May the force be with you” from Star Wars made it to fourth place. Forrest Gump’s sappy, oft-mocked line “Life is like a box of chocolates” came in fifth.

A myfilms.com spokesperson noted, “Our research shows the huge influence films have over people, from life-changing experiences to the way we speak.”

In all 2000 people were surveyed on the favourite quotes, as well as what films they themselves would like to appear in. Women picked romances like Dirty Dancing and Pretty Woman, while men picked action fare like Die Hard and the James Bond films.
