Raps Can’t Stop Warriors In Home Loss

Golden State only had one win on a young season when they headed into Toronto for Sunday’s matinee. They left with two.

Chris Bosh struggled, and the Raptors were right there with him down the stretch against the Warriors, who used a strong fourth quarter to come away with a 106-100 win.

“I’m just not there, there’s not much I can say … passing, scoring, shooting, it’s just not there for me,” said Bosh. “I just have to be patient, as hard as that may be.

Bosh is still playing catch-up after missing much of the pre-season with an injury to his right knee and had 11 points and 11 rebounds to go with six turnovers.

T.J. Ford did his best to pick up the slack scoring 29 points and adding eight assists but the Raps offence fell off the map down the stretch, while Golden State’s fast-paced attack kept right on coming, erasing an eight-point deficit heading into the final frame. The Raptors scored just 12 points in the fourth.

“We hit a drought in the fourth quarter,” Ford said. “Things just shifted in the fourth quarter.”

Bosh suggested a bright spot is that the Raptors’ record for their first 10 games is better than the 2-8 they opened with last season, a year in which they tied a franchise record for wins with 47.

“We’re still in a better position than we’ve been since I’ve been here,” the Raptors forward said. “We know we’re not playing as well as we can, and we’re still. 500 and we’re still in the middle of the Eastern Conference as opposed to the bottom.”

The Warriors shot 47 per cent on the night to top Toronto ‘s 44 per cent, and out-rebounded the Raptors 47-46. But Golden State clobbered Toronto inside, outscoring the Raptors 54-36 in the paint.

In celebration of “Italian Day,” the Raptors wore the red, green and white jerseys they wore in Rome as part of NBA Europe Live. And while the home woes continue for Toronto the good news is that they now head out onto the road for three games at Dallas, Memphis and Cleveland.
