Police Probe Fake Abduction On 401

Halton Regional Police are looking into a strange incident that turned out to be a fake abduction on the 401.
It was around 6:30pm Saturday when police were called to the eastbound 401 at the 407 after a car was forced off the road by two other vehicles and the driver was taken away.
Investigators said it appears the suspects were trying to collect money from the victim who later admitted to misleading police with an abduction call.
Two suspects were arrested when they showed up at the police station a short time later to report being victims of a fail-to-remain incident.
That portion of the 401 was closed into the early morning hours Sunday while OPP investigated.
