The weather has finally warmed up – at least for one day – before we plunge back into the recesses of winter for another few weeks. Most GTA residents are celebrating the one-day reprieve. But not those whose job it is to patch the endless potholes on city streets.
There are bumps on Bathurst, craters on College, divots on the Danforth, and giant gaps on Greenwood. And that’s just to name a few. The fact that we’re about to be plunged back into the cold after the sudden meltdown has the city cringing at the thought of what’s to come on our roads.
They’re fixing them as fast as they can, but Old Man Winter and Mother Nature have been teaming up to put more in their way than they can possibly reach. Which is where you come in. Welcome back to CityNews’ annual Pothole Patrol, the hunt for the biggest and worst road wreckers in the GTA.
If you think the route you travel deserves one of the less than coveted spots, email us at news@citynews.ca about where it is and how it’s affected you or your vehicle. We’ll highlight it on an upcoming show and try to get the city to fix it as fast as possible.
So keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road. Because the CNE may not be opening for months. But you’re already on a bumper car ride that doesn’t seem to have any exit.
