For the third summer in a row, Virgin Music takes over Toronto Island.
This year’s line-up includes the usual mix of international hits and homegrown talent, plus the chance that you could be marooned when the show’s all over.
Foo Fighters and Oasis will headline one day each of the two-day rock fest, while Winnipeg boys The Weakerthans and Toronto-born The Constantines will entertain those who managed to snag a ride on an early ferry.
“When I first started Virgin a huge part of it was inspired by a passion for music. Each year, Virgin Festival Toronto gets bigger and better but is still so authentic,” said chairman Richard Branson.
It’s as authentic as taking a boat to see Halifax-based Wintersleep, getting a whole bunch of buttons from NOW magazine, and finding your own way home after the last boat sets sail.
The concert runs September 6 and 7. To buy tickets and find out who else is set to play, check out the website.
