Raptors Bounce Back Against Hawks

It’s been a topsy-turvy season for the Toronto Raptors so far, but they soared Friday night in a big win over the Atlanta Hawks.

The 93-88 victory marked the second in a row for a Toronto club that’d been slumping to that point.

It also helped Sam Mitchell’s side salvage a four-game home stand in which it dropped the first two games in agonizing fashion.

Surprise, surprise, Chris Bosh led the way for the Dinos pouring in 30 points to go with 10 rebounds and seven helpers. The one-man wrecking crew also swatted three shots and provided ample post presence with centre Jermaine O’Neal still on the shelf with a sore knee.

Jason Kapono dropped 16 points in support of Bosh, while Joey Graham and Jamario Moon (pictured) were the only other Raps to score in double digits with 11 and 10 respectively.

Jose Calderon had a quiet night offensively but did pick up 11 assists.

His counterpart – or counter point as it were – Mike Bibby led the road-weary Hawks with 24 points. Big man Zaza Pachulia hauled 17 off the glass but although the Hawks hung around and made late charges, the club never looked likely to win on this night.

Atlanta fell to 9-6 with the loss while Toronto moved above .500 at 8-7.

The Raptors now head out to the west coast where they’ll take on the potent Los Angeles Lakers Sunday afternoon.
