Student Stabbed At Emery C.I.

After a week of frightening incidents at or near some Toronto high schools, police are dealing with yet another disturbing case.

This one took place in a field at Emery C.I. near Finch and Weston Rd. That’s where cops discovered a young victim who appears to have been stabbed in the neck and the mouth.

The teen was bleeding when medical attention arrived and he was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. His injuries aren’t serious but his attitude appears to be.

Cops say the victim is being very uncooperative, telling authorities only that he had “an accident.” Detectives suspect he may have been the victim of a robbery, but there’s been no confirmation about what actually happened to him.

The Emergency Task Force was dispatched to the area to check for suspects, but so far, there have been no arrests.

Cops set up a command post at the school, and were canvassing witnesses. The campus was never placed in lockdown, which means police believed there was no longer any danger at the scene.

Investigators have obtained video footage from the school’s security cameras and it apparently shows images of the suspects fleeing the scene.

It’s the latest instance of violence or weapons being used or carried near a local campus. On Monday, cops arrested a 14-year-old alleged to be carrying a hidden revolver. Half an hour later, more officers poured into Albert Campbell C.I., where a gun was found in a locker.

Last Thursday, a 12-year-old was arrested for  allegedly bringing a bayonet and a disabled firearm to school, after complaining about being bullied.

And on Wednesday, two 16-year-old students were stabbed outside Central Commerce C.I. There have been no arrests in that case.
