Elderly Woman Dies After Being Hit By Car

An elderly woman has died one week after she was hit while crossing the street.
The incident happened on April 3.
Investigators allege that a Mazda was heading west on Wellesley St E around 2:30pm. The driver was allegedly trying to make a right-hand turn onto Jarvis St.
The traffic lights allegedly cycled from green through amber to red. Cops allege that it was at this time that the driver made the turn.
Police allege that a 91-year-old woman was in the south crosswalk at that same time. She was using a motorized electric scooter to get across the street.
She was struck by the Mazda and taken to hospital with minor injuries.
She passed away in hospital April 10.
