If you’re one of the lucky ones enjoying a long weekend, the weather is cooperating.
The GTA will see lots of sunshine and a little bit of wind throughout the next few days, for a sunny and cool Easter.
Saturday began with a cloudless blue sky and temperatures just under the freezing mark. But we saw a high of eight degrees as the day continued.
The light northerly wind, with gusts around 20 kilometres an hour, wasn’t enough to put a damper on festivities.

On Sunday, it will be a little bit cooler. We’ll see a low of -5C and a high around 6C – but the sun makes a welcome reappearance after what seems like months of grey skies.
That sunshine will continue throughout the work week as we hit double digit temperatures.
On Monday, we’ll see a low of -4C but a high of 9C. Tuesday, we’ll stay above freezing all day with a high of 10. By Wednesday, we’ll be well into the teens with a low of 2C and high of 13; Thursday will bring a low of 1C and high of 12C and Friday, the mercury will bottom out around 2C and we’ll see a high of 13C.
It’s a far cry from the whopping 26.8C Toronto saw back in 1977 – but it’s far above the -7.2C just a few years earlier, in 1972. As long as Environment Canada has been keeping records, that’s the warmest – and the coldest – it has ever been on April 11.
