Parents Take Lie-Detector Tests In Daughter’s Disappearance

Tara McDonald holds a photo of her daughter Victoria, missing for a week, saying that she’s confident the eight-year-old will come home to her.

“I’m positive and confident she will come home, and I will hold her in my arms and I will never let her go –not for a second, and she will never go to school without me ever ever again,” McDonald said, through tears.

Although the results are not yet known, McDonald and Victoria’s father Rodney Stafford told CityNews they took lie-detector tests on Wednesday, the latest news in the week-old case. The pair have been separated for about six years.

Their daughter, a third-grade student at Oliver Stephens Public School, did not come home after class on Wednesday April 8.

“I thought out every single scenario, and I have no answers,” McDonald admitted. “I carry a picture at all times of me and Victoria together. So that she’s with me. She’s here. Even if not just a picture, I know she’s here.”

The youngster was last seen on surveillance video walking with an unknown woman on that Wednesday afternoon.

It’s the only solid clue police have released to the community.

“The public are very frustrated because they’re unaware of any progress at all in the investigation because the information I have to share is so minimal,” acknowledged Const. Laurie-Ann Maitland of Oxford Community Police.
