Third Shooting In Four Days Leaves Man Injured

Toronto Police are investigating yet another shooting in the city.

It happened after 7pm at an apartment building near Jane and Trethewey, where a man was reportedly hit in the leg. He staggered across the street to a nearby donut shop, where police were called.

His injuries are not considered life threatening.

A car filled with up to four men was spotted fleeing the scene. One of those inside was armed with a shotgun.

It’s the third disturbing incident of gunplay around the same area this week. On Tuesday, 19-year-old Daniel Lewis was shot and killed near a community centre at Keele and Rogers Rd. A 17-year-old is facing second-degree murder charges as cops seek one other suspect.

The next day, a gunman boldly walked up to 29-year-old Omar Waite as he stood waiting for a bus at Jane and Eglinton at the dinner hour. The victim was shot several times and succumbed to his injuries in hospital on Thursday.

There’s no word on what may have sparked this latest incident.
