Same-Day Breast Cancer Diagnosis Now A Reality

The battle against breast cancer got a huge boost Thursday with a $12.5 million donation to Princess Margaret Hospital – the second largest in its history.
The money will go towards a rapid diagnostics centre, which will mean women won’t have to wait 37 days to find out if they have the disease.
And not only will patients get their diagnosis on the same day as their test, but if their results come back positive, they will also find out which type of treatment they’ll receive – surgery, radiation or chemotherapy.
