The latest Canadian soldier to be killed in Afghanistan was returned home on Wednesday.
Corporal Martin Dubé died on Sunday while defusing a roadside bomb in the Panjwaii District. He was 35 years old.
The combat engineer had been called to neutralize two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) when one of them exploded.
The plane carrying his casket touched down at CFB Trenton at around 2pm.
Governor General Michaelle Jean and Vice Chief of the Defence Staff Vice-Admiral J.A.D. Rouleau were on hand to pay their respects, as will his family and friends.
After the solemn ceremony, Dubé’s body was taken along the Highway of Heroes to Toronto.
