Malton Shooting Leaves One Man Dead

A shooting in Malton has left one man dead and police searching for clues.
Officers from Peel Region were called to a house party on Monica Dr. early Sunday morning.
Someone dialed 911 after reportedly hearing gunshots at around 1:30am.
When emergency crews arrived, they found the victim on the ground. He was rushed to a local hospital, but it was too late. He died in hospital.
The victim has been identified as Nicarno Anthony Wright, a 22 year-old man from Brampton.
Police believe there were several people at the party who left before officers arrived on scene and want to them whether or not they believe they have any useful information.

The death marks the region’s 13th homicide of the year.
It’s not the first time police have investigated a murder on Monica Drive. David Latchana, 23, was gunned down on November 3, 2007.
