Arrest Made In TTC Bus Fire

A man has been arrested following a bizarre incident on a TTC bus on Wednesday.

Police allege that Steven Edwards, 28, poured some sort of flammable liquid all over the back seats of the bus, set it alight, and then ran away.

Commuters were shaken up by the strange scenario, which actually began at a bus stop.

Investigators allege that the accused was waiting with a large group when he asked a woman for a cigarette. She refused, and he allegedly punched her in the face.

He then boarded the bus, where several witnesses and the victim confronted him.

He then allegedly moved to the back of the bus before starting the fire.

Edwards has been charged with: 

-Assault

-Arson: damage to property

-Arson: disregard for human life

-Fail to comply Recognizance

-Common Nuisance

-Mischief interfere with property

-five counts of Weapons Dangerous.
