Bruce Power, a nuclear generating facility on the shores of Lake Huron, has fired close to 100 employees at its site at Tiverton, Ont.
Spokesman Ross Lamont says the firings announced Wednesday follow an investigation of code of conduct violations in such areas as email and internet use.
Lamont did not release details of the alleged violations, but says police are aware of the investigation and the firings.
He said that Bruce Power “expects all employees and contractors to live by the code of conduct. ”
If they are not prepared to, he said, “then we don’t want them working in our facility.”
Bruce Power, about 250 kilometres northwest of Toronto, employs about 3,000 people.
