Toronto Councillor Sandra Bussin has apologized for her bizarre outburst on a CFRB phone-in show.
On Friday — the day Mayor David Miller said he wouldn’t run for a third term — a woman identifying herself only as “Sandra” called in to a talk show hosted by John Tory.
She was upset over the treatment Miller was getting on air, but when she was asked, she denied that she worked for the city.
She also called Tory a ‘three-time loser’, during the radio exchange.
Later, she admitted that she made the call.
“I have sent a letter of apology to John Tory,” she told council. “I do apologize to being caught up in the moment.”
Tory lost to Miller in the 2003 election, but may run again in 2010.
Some councillors have suggested that the city’s Integrity Commission should look into the outburst but that likely won’t happen now that Bussin has apologized.
