Prisoner escapes from Hamilton

Two masked men with handguns overpowered guards and helped a prisoner escape as he was leaving Hamilton General Hospital this morning.

Police say 25-year-old Fawad Nouri was escorted to the hospital for a medical appointment and was leaving when the guards were knocked down.

The armed men freed the prisoner and made off in a Corrections van.

The guards were not hurt.
