The future of nine public school pools in Toronto remains up in the air.
A motion to re-open the Monarch Park Collegiate Pool was defeated after a vote Thursday night by the Toronto District School Board trustees ended in a tie.
It is one of nine pools that could potentially close its doors permanently.
But board trustee Josh Matlow told 680News he and many other trustees don’t want to see any of the pools close.
Trustees will now wait for the report on the sustainability of the nine pools from the aquatics working group headed by former Toronto mayor David Crombie.
