Police arrested a suspect one day after an alleged abduction outside an Oshawa courthouse.
A man had just stepped off a bus when three or more men allegedly grabbed him and forced him into a minivan Monday morning.
Authorities wouldn’t say if the victim was a witness who was supposed to testify at an attempted murder trial, slated to start at 9am, around the same time as the kidnapping. That hearing at the courthouse at 850 King St. East was cancelled.
Police said they found the victim safe and unharmed Tuesday and also nabbed a 27-year-old suspect.
Kurtis Schwarz of Orangeville is charged with kidnapping and forcible confinement. He was scheduled to appear in court for a bail hearing Wednesday morning.
