TTC Launches Beta Version Of Trip Planner

The TTC launched the beta version of its online trip planner this week, but the tool is getting mixed reviews.

The trip planner was launched Tuesday and allows riders to punch in their location, destination, departure and arrival times and how far you’re willing to walk from the last stop.

The tool also allows users to decide what kind of TTC vehicles they prefer to travel on, whether it be by streetcar, subway or bus. Users can also request routes that have accessible buses and subway stations with elevators and buses that have bike racks.

Google maps are also used to highlight the suggested route and an estimated trip time is provided.

The TTC says once the online tool is complete it will include alternate route suggestions, an expanded points of interest list, the ability to create profiles and offer e-alerts and service changes.

Meanwhile the transit commission is asking for your input. Early reviews on Twitter have been largely negative.
