Hollywood coming back to Ontario

Hollywood is coming back to Ontario. The film and TV business is getting back on its feet after a long dip.
There are four major motion pictures shooting in and around Toronto right now, including Dream House with James Bond star Daniel Craig and Red with Bruce Willis.
It’s a good sign that so many films here so early in the season.
Ontario film commisioner Donna Zuchlinski told 680News there’s TV work on the way too.
“Pilot season is upon us and we’re probably going to have our best U.S. pilot season that we’ve had in many years,” Zuchlinski said.
And that means jobs.
Jake Meyer, executive producer of Red shooting at the Royal York, said it helps that Toronto can stand in for mulitple locations.
“On the hotel iteself, it’s Chicago. Prior to that happening, we’re doubling Toronto for Kansas City, Washington, D.C. …,” he said.
Ontario’s film and TV industry was up 41 per cent in 2009.
