Porter Airlines unveils airport expansions

Porter Airlines unveiled it’s new 150,000-square-foot airport that could see 1.3-million passengers walking through its doors.

The $50-million newly-named Billy Bishop airport includes two passenger lounges, fourteen check-in kiosks, ten bridged aircraft gates and office space.

John Baird, the Federal Transport Minister, was on hand for the initial expansion announcement and returned to see the results.

“Customers have responded positively,” he said at the unveiling. “It has also added competition for the airline sector.”

Porter is hoping to expand its flight list to include Philadelphia, and New York’s LaGuardia airport.
